A Guide to Girls Bodybuilding Competition

For a long time, bodybuilding was a male sport. However, these days, it's commonplace to see women bodybuilders. These females aren't few and far between, either. There are associations and special competitions out there just for women. Competitions that used to be strictly male have changed their formats and created divisions for the girls. Female bodybuilders can be as successful and popular as their male counterparts, if not more so. Girls bodybuilding competition is as exciting and enjoyable as the male version. Since the 1970's, women have been a large part of the bodybuilding world.

Girls bodybuilding competition is basically the same as competition between male bodybuilders. The female contestants are judged in basically the same way as the males are. There are a variety of bodybuilding competitions all over the world that feature female competitors, and here are just a few of them:

The Arnold Classic: This competition pits female bodybuilders against one another for the second highest title in the bodybuilding world. You may hear this competition referred to as Ms. International, which is the title that female bodybuilders can walk away with.

The Musclemania Natural Bodybuilding Championships: Once a year in California, this competition takes place. There are divisions for men and women of all ages and fitness levels from novice to advanced.

California Natural Muscle: As the name suggests, these competitions for men and women are held in California, however you can find them at additional locations throughout the United States and Canada.

Debbie Kruck Fitness Classic: This girls bodybuilding competition was created by Debbie Kruck, a leader in the world of female bodybuilding.

Ms. Fitness Universe: The Ms. Fitness Universe is one of the most prestigious titles an amateur female bodybuilder can win. As the name suggests, women of all nationalities can compete.

There are also various clubs that female bodybuilders can join, and through these associations, you can find out more about various competitions. Choosing the right girls bodybuilding competition is crucial for your success. You should always choose a competition that is appropriate for your skill level. You will need to start at the novice level and work your way up from there.
