![]() |
There are many people in the world today that are fighting the battle of the bulge. If you're a bodybuilder that needs to lose weight, you may be thinking, 'How do bodybuilders lose fat?' That's a very valid question, and one we will try to answer!
One way to lose excess fat is through nutritional modifications. Cutting calories is important, but there's more to it than that. You'll want to be sure to eat small, healthy meals at frequent intervals throughout the day. By eating frequently, you allow your metabolism to work as efficiently as possible and burn fat, which is what you want. Protein is a must, and should be eaten at every meal. You may want to reduce your carbohydrate intake, but please don't eliminate carbs altogether. Your body needs small amounts of carbs to thrive, just make sure you don't overdo it, and that you choose healthy carbs like vegetables and whole grains.
Drinking plenty of water is essential to weight loss as well. Not only does water work to flush out impurities, it lubricates the joints and keeps the body functioning normally. If you're doing a lot of exercise, like many bodybuilders, you'll need more water than the average person. You may also want to periodically drink Gatorade to replenish your electrolyte supply.
Cardiovascular activity, in addition to your normal strength training routine, is crucial for fat loss. Ideally, you should participate in some sort of cardiovascular activity five times per week for 45 minutes or so per session. This will keep your metabolism at its maximum level and allow you to burn off all that unwanted fat!
If you're having trouble losing fat, you may want to consider using all natural supplements to help increase your progress. Hoodia gordonii is one such natural supplement that is said to help increase metabolism and decrease appetite. Just be sure to check with your physician before taking any sort of supplement, to ensure maximum safety.
Losing weight can help you feel better and look better. Your confidence will increase, and you'll be able to make serious progress with your bodybuilding goals.
